Q
What is the “Green Mark”?

The “Green Mark” is a system designed by the Ministry of Environment, Executive Yuan, in alignment with the international shift towards sustainable development. Its purpose is to encourage businesses to conserve resources or reduce environmental pollution during raw material acquisition, product manufacturing, sales, use, and disposal. This system aims to positively shape and enhance the image of businesses and enable consumers to clearly choose environmentally friendly products. It raises consumer awareness to opt for low-pollution products, assists in waste reduction, recycling, and other environmental protection efforts, directly improving our country’s environmental quality and fulfilling our commitment to being responsible global citizens.

The “Green Mark” features a green leaf enveloping a pure, uncontaminated Earth. The green leaf symbolizes the concept of green consumption, while the green circular pattern represents a clean, uncontaminated Earth. Therefore, the English name for the environmental label is the “Green Mark.”

The entire design of the Earth wrapped in a green leaf symbolizes that green consumption is a global concept that can be universally adopted worldwide, naturally achieving the goal of “recyclable, low pollution, resource-saving.”
