Zhushan Session - Changhua County Pest Control Association Chairman Xu Huang-Long

　There are currently 205 teams of 7,467 environmental protection volunteers in Nantou County, who have made significant contributions to environmental protection efforts in Nantou County.
　After the COVID-19 epidemic began to stabilize, the Environmental Protection Bureau went to Guoxing and Zhushan to conduct basic and special training for environmental protection volunteers on October 23rd – 24th and November 13th – 14th. A total of 74 individuals participated in the training sessions. Chen Rui-Lin, chairman of the Nantou County Volunteer Service Association, closed out the first day of volunteer training by explaining the significance, rationale, and regulations of volunteer service. During the second day of the special training for environmental protection volunteers, Xu Huang-Long, the chairman of the Changhua County Pest Control Association, explained the maintenance of residential environments and the use of pesticides. The training sessions also had Executive Secretary Chen Jin-Zhi, of the Guoxing Township Community Development Association, and Chairman Chen Song-Mao, of the Caotun Shanjiao Village Community Development Association, share their many years of experience as volunteers. Finally, the training sessions had Hong Jin-Ping, the chairman of the Niushiqi Community Development Association, talk about how to promote environmental education within the community, as he has had many years of experience in community environments and environmental education. Chairman Hong also spoke about the application channels for various subsidy programs, and the volunteers who participated in the training sessions benefited greatly from listening to these individuals.
　Li Yi-Shu, Director of the Environmental Protection Bureau, said that Nantou County has a group of volunteers that works together for the environment. He also would like to thank the teams of volunteers for their contributions to the environment and the hands-on beautification of the community, and to welcome anybody who is interested in environmental services to join the volunteers in creating a comfortable and livable community environment.
