　Summer, being the hottest season of the year, is also the time when mosquitoes, cockroaches and flies are most active. To be rid pests, people often purchase related products in convenience stores, stores, hypermarkets or online stores. The EPB said, according to Article 32 of the Environmental Agents Control Act, environmental agents manufacturing enterprises, environmental agent vendors, and pest control operators may not advertise environmental agents. The EPB reminds the public to purchase legal, safe and effective environmental agents. Upon choosing an environmental agent, people should check whether there is a permit number issued by the Environmental Protection Administration such as “Huan-Shu-Wei-Zhi No. XXXX” or “Huan-Shu-Wei-Shu-Zhi No. XXXX” to avoid buying products from an unknown source or buying an untruthful product online.
　In a bid to ensure that the public is able to purchase legal and effective environmental agents while preventing the selling of environmental agents from unknown sources, we carry out an inspection on environmental agents sold and advertised in convenience stores, grocery stores, hardware stores, and hypermarkets on an annual basis. By doing this, we ensure that products are safe for the public to use. In addition, if people are concerned about the product they purchase, they can use the “Environmental Agents Permit Inquiry System” (https://mdc.epa.gov.tw/PublicInfo/) to check whether the product is legally registered by entering the product name or permit number. On the webpage, people can also get information on products made of natural substances for pest control, as well as legal sellers of environmental agents and vector control companies.
　The Bureau hopes that while the public is making an effort to protect the environment, they can also choose safe and legal environmental agents to maintain the quality of the environment and enjoy the beautiful air of Nantou.
